hrmm so im from socal and im hopefully moving up to south sf with my relatives for this coming school year. ya'll people need to show me where all the max tune and id4 AND tekken 6 machines are cuz i dont wanna spend money at metreon. my aunt lives off westborough close to st augustine and the goldilocks there haha. so yeahh somebody tell me a good cheap place to race. cuz the cheapest down here is 2 tokens to start and 1 to continue. then theres the $10 for 4 hours unlimited arcade. grin2.gif

oh and i know you guys posted all these places already but if you could tell me which is closer to the ssf area at a reasonable price to play at. thanks

ummmm, the places i can think of off the top of my head are sfsu(gaming area), the golflands(milpitas and sunnyvale), and the metreon in sf. however, im not from the bay, so there could be alot more machines that i dont know about. but from what ive heard, the metreon is pretty expensive (ive heard they charge $2 a game). but the golflands offer free play on tuesday evenings and saturday mornings for 6 i believe. milpitas also has free arcade day, where you pay 10 for free play all day. other than that, max tune will typically be $1 per play in the bay area.

thanks for the info rwchew. yeah ive been to metreon during a spare the air day.. which i think needs to be in LA ::cough cough:: haha but yeah so i didnt have to pay for bart transportation to metreon. and yeah it is quite expensive. but not $2. thats the id4 machines. which are LEFT HAND drive. WTFF why would they do that?? anyways. i guess the closest would be sunnyvale. i could probably go after i get out of csm on tuesdays haha. thanks again man

Eh, Metreon's machines are crap...though I did take a few crowns there a while back.

They do make up for it with Pump It Up Pro though.

Without getting into the tangled history about how PIU was conceived before DDR but the releases of the games were the other way around, PIUP is more of a ripoff of what you call a ripoff. It's a cross between ITG and PIU.

SVGL Arcade Mania on Saturday = UGH.

Normally, during an Arcade Mania here at SVGL, the card slots are set so that you press one of the buttons on it to add credits. But sometimes, you get a card that has unlimited credits for 3 or 4 hours.

Which I would not mind, except for a gaping huge problem: you can only use your card for 2 minutes. This is especially inconvenient if you retire within the first 2 minutes of a TA and want to retry, or want to do Metro Highway TA.

Do NOT go to SVGL on Saturday mornings if you're intending to dedicade the 3 hours to time attack; the only reason for me to go there is to tune cars.

I had the same problem at one in Roseville, but what I did is asked other people who were doing Arcade Mania to slide their cards into the slot that I was playing in.

When I tried to renew, the slot locked out. But when I slid two unique cards, it read both and I was able to renew.

You tried to renew a card at RVGL?

SVGL takes their cards out during AM, which causes problems if the machine is not reset afterwards; people try to buy cards and bam, error.

I can't say anything about SFSU's, but I still recommend coming to SVGL tomorrow, particularly if you can stay up late (to 12am) for Arcade Mania.

That's the 3rd time someone has taken the Wangan title away from me! When I found out for the first time, I thought that my New Belt Line title would of been lost, not the Wangan title...

Now I need an excuse to get my South Sacramento butt up to Roseville to take it back dry.gif
