Managed to blow my diff mounts, crunch the housing, possibly destroy the diff gears, lose top end oil pressure and wipe my cam....all at once whistling.gif

And the carbs needed to be rebuilt anyways.

Ah well, at least I've got a POS nissan versa rental to tool around in and beat on. I've also got incentive to actually find a real DD now as well....

Well, age had a bit to do with it, but the main issue was insufficient headlight power and steel debris on the road. On the other hand, this gives me the excuse to redo alot of the stupid shit that the POs did. And since it looks like I'm going to be sending my engine into rebello for a rebuild and refresh (it lasted 10 years of hard driving as well) I mght just bite the bullet now and have them punch it from a three liter to a 3.2....

Ah well, that's life. Plus, he who dies with the most money lost, he who died with the most toys won...

how in gods name did you manage all that at once? I can see one half of that or the other happening all at once, but damn. That's some serious skill.

well, the engine troubles are just because the damn things a 10 year old race engine (and I can think of a couple of times that might have caused the cam scoring...). The rest...yah, it was a pretty damn impressive sound, that's for sure.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the VO7 crank. Derp.

Ah, good. The N42 should have more space to bore out, unlike my F54 blocks which I'm afraid to do... I do have one N42 looking for a change though...

Yah, it's a rebello built engine in the first place, so they used the best block for overboring in the first place.

Sucks not having a sports car to drive for awhile crying2.gif

Waiting on parts to rebuild the carbs and some rear end stuff, then it's up on a dyno for tuning and then she'll be good to go biggrin.gif
